Francois Valentyn (1666-1727) was a minister in the Dutch Reformed Church and served in the East India Company. A finely engraved two-sheet map of the island of Amboina, now known as Ceram, Indonesia. This island was the scene of a bloody massacre by the Dutch in 1623. With an inset of the island Hoeamohel.
