‘The Lootsman family (a surname adopted by the founder of the firm Anthony, or Theunis, Jacobsz) are one of the less well-known firms of chart-makers and publishers’ (Wardington). This finely engraved sea chart of the north coasts of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset and the south coast of Wales appeared in their ‘Lighting Column or Sea Mirror’ first published in 1644.
