We were unable to identify the origin of this map. L. A. Depuis described in the imprint as the engraver and author is not listed in Tooley’s Dictionary of Mapmakers. An apparent group of seven bearing matching numerals upper right is in a French composite atlas in the British Library but it gives no further clues. It displays the mouth of the Dnieper River in the Ukraine. It features Otchakof (Ochakov) to the left and upriver Kerson better known now as Cherson.
