Annibale Carracci (1560-1609) was an Italian Baroque painter born in Bologna. This work celebrates one of his finest works, the decoration of the piano nobile of the magnificent Palazzo Farnese in Rome. These fine engravings by Pietro Aquila (c.1630-92) were published in 1686 in ‘Galeriae Farnesianae Icones
