Jacques Nam was renowned for his animal paintings and illustrations and was particularly fond of cats. From 1906 his works were exhibited at the Salon d’Automne and the National Gallery of Beaux Arts. Nam also illustrated a number of French magazines including “La Vie Parisienne” and comic images for “Le Petit Journal Illustre de la Jeunesse”. During the first world war he illustrated several comics written by Charles Derennes. This portfolio of Jacques Nam’s work is complimented by the text of his wife Colette. The work is printed by Ducros et Colas and published by Paul Hassen. No. 219 of a limited edition of 350. Refer Necker pp. 453-4.

Half title and title, with 5 full page colour illustrations by Jacques Nam, each accompanied by 4 pp. of descriptive text written in the first person for the cat, all uncut.
