A separately published Catalogue of maps and plans available for sale by ‘Sieur Bailleul le jeune’. The younger Baillieul refers to Francois (c.1690-c.1748), the son of Gaspard also a map publisher and map maker. His offerings start off with a focus on France, the Low Countries, Germany and the Spanish peninsula. Maps of three of the continents omitting America are also listed. There are however maps of ‘Chily’ and Paraguay in one sheet. A list of plans of fortified towns follows. Of particular note are plans of Paris in both one and four sheets. A description follows of other available works in the ‘same shop’ including a three sheet map of the Mediterranean Sea by the Comte de Maurepas believed to date from 1737. The very nature of such material was disposable and the survival of such items is EXTREMELY RARE.
