A fine early French maritime chart of the Mediterranean from Gibraltar to Crete. This is the first map published by the Depot des Carte et Plans de la Marine. The map includes stars which mark the locations where accurate longitude and latitude measurements have been taken, a cross marks that of latitude only. Chapuis (2019) History of Cartography.
