A magnificent display of the genealogical family tree of the mediaeval period of English history. The Royal families of Plantagenet’s and the Dukes of Normandy, leading to the House of York on the left side and the House of Lancaster on the right side, both illustrating the Wars of the Roses. The coats of arms of Edward the Confessor and 13 others adorn the plate. It was published in the second volume of the encyclopaedic atlas by Henri Abraham Chatelain (1684-1743) entitled ‘Atlas Historique ou Nouvelle Introduction a l’Histoire, a la Chronologie & a la Geographie’.
