A fine double page sepia soft-ground etched plate of Caerleon just outside Newport from John George Wood’s ‘The Principal Rivers of Wales’ published in 1813, one of just twenty four in the book. Russell describes the book as ‘one of the finest of the books of the time illustrated by etchings … delicately tinted and worked’. It is a rare work.
