This very decorative map of ancient Britain orientated with west to the top is from the first edition published in 1595 in the ‘Theatrum Orbis Terrarum’. According to Van den Broecke it is engraved by Jan Wierix. Its cartography is largely derived from Gerard Mercator’s wall map of 1564 with improvements taken from Christopher Saxton.
