Towards the end of the seventeenth century Gerard van Keulen set about replacing many of his father’s sea charts. The 1734 edition of the second part of the ‘Zee Fakkel’ was improved considerably with a large number of entirely new charts. This one features the Isle of Thanet depicting Ramsgate and Margate. Koeman (1967-70) IV Keu 71 no. 11 & p. 384 no. 288.
