This superb birds-eye view of London was drawn by Chapuis, a not uncommon name in Paris at the time. Hence it has not been possible to identify his forename. It was expertly engraved by A. Appert in aquatint who worked in Paris from around 1840. This is a magnificent detailed panorama of London taken from a position above Westminster Abbey looking east towards the city of London. With great detail including figures and carriages in the streets. With St. Paul’s Cathedral prominently displayed and the River Thames crossed by six bridges. Benezit (1911-19).
