This is only the second published plan of the Siege of Quebec according to Kershaw. This example is offered in the first state as published in 1760 in “The Natural and Civil History of the French Dominions”. A second state was published in the “General Topography of North America”, 1768. The first state is determined by the note outside the margin lower right “Price 2d” without a publishers imprint. The significance of the Siege in the French and Indian war cannot be underestimated. The map is dedicated to William Pitt in the upper left. Kershaw 1016.
