Dufour (1798-1865) was a cartographer and publisher in Paris. His early works date from the late 1820s, he was noted for his road maps of France, Spain and Central Europe. This map of Algeria displays them well although it is to be doubted that they compare with those of Europe in quality and are more routes than roads. It is engraved by Ch. Lyonnet and published by A. Levasseur and Abel Pilon. Tooley Dictionary.
