An attractive map of the north African coastline covering present-day Tunisia and Libya. It is derived from Abraham Ortelius’ similarly entitled map which in turn was based on Giacomo Gastaldi’s great map of Africa and the ancient writings of Diodorus, Siculus, Plinius, Virgilius, Appianus, Halicarnasseus, Athenaeus and Herodotus. The map extends northwards to include Sicily and Malta.
