A superb POST ROADS map of central Europe engraved by George Wigzell for Robert Laurie and James Whittle’s ‘New and Elegant Imperial Sheet Atlas’. This appears to be an improved and enlarged second state. The first was entitled ‘A New Map of the Emporer’s Dominions …’ and did not extend to the north shore of Germany. This issue bears an extension half sheet to the top and an altered title. refer Shirley ‘Atlases in the British Library’ T.Lau 2a no. 23a.
