Towards the end of the seventeenth century Gerard van Keulen set about replacing many of his father’s sea charts. This one of the Sussex coast bears an attractive cartouche. This is an example of the second state with ‘Bank’ added south west of Hastings. Koeman IV p. 378 no. 230 state 2.
