A fine detailed map of the surrounds of the city of London published it is believed in the first edition of Joseph Ellis’ ‘New English Atlas’. The first edition survives in just one known example from which all of the folding maps are lacking. It does however appear in the second edition of 1766 so the presumption has been made of giving it a date of issue of 1765. Darlington & Howgego 189; Hodson III 238; Wyatt no. 35.
