This very rare fascinating English sea chart was first published in John Seller’s ‘English Pilot Third Part’ covering the Mediterranean Sea in 1677. It was engraved by Joel Gascoyne with four tables of tides and currents through the Straits of Gibraltar. The towns of Ceuta and Tangier on the African shoreline are shown and the Spanish coast from Gibraltar to Cape Trafalgar. Shirley ‘Atlases in the BL’ M.Sell 1d no. 4.
