An uncommon map of the Promised Land with the twelve Tribes identified. From Philippe de la Rue’s “La Terre Sainte en Six Cartes Geographiques …”. La Rue (1683-1761) from Paris produced a map of the Holy Land in 1646 for Antoine de Fer. With the exception of a map of Perigort all his known cartographic work was published between 1651 and 1653 by Pierre Mariette and was on the Holy Land. Laor 416; Pastoureau La Rue no. 2.
