The most successful of the publishers of view books relating to the Isle of Wight was George Brannon. Aided by his family he was artist, engraver and publisher operating from Wootton Common on the island. The ‘Vectis Scenery’ was his first work published in Southampton in 1825, this example is one of the many later editions. Russell pp. 135-6.

Quarto (305 x 250 mm.), in early half red morocco binding rebacked in cloth, with original blind floral patterned cloth boards. With engraved title page and 41 steel engravings (Contents call for 40), folding map of the Isle of Wight, pp. 73. In good condition.
