There is only ONE RECORDED EXAMPLE of this second state map. It was first published in 1579-80 in the “Itinerarium Orbis Christiani” whose authorship is unclear. It is generally ascribed to Johann Metellus otherwise known as Jean Matal. Shirley notes that it is one of the earliest published works to include maps and town plans to a uniform scale. The map is an adaptation of the Humphrey Lluyd but bears the addition of a few roads. Meurer IOC 8; Shirley, 123a, 156b.
