A rare item relating to Malta from the extensive production of Coronelli. It is a plan of Valletta displaying the entire harbour complex. The south west is at the top. This is an example of the rarer FIRST STATE lacking the key and dated 1686. The second state is dated 1688 and includes a key in the column on the left. It illustrates the proposed modifications to the fortifications. The plate is dedicated to Francesco Cornaro with his arms displayed.
