The dating of maps by the Visscher family is very hard but bearing the privilege granted in 1677 and by the style we can ascribe a date to approximately 1680. The map depicts the English Channel extending from the Straits of Dover to the tips of Cornwall and Brittany. Koeman (1967-70) III pp. 150-84 no. 209; Tooley’s Dictionary.
