A superb large scale map of the regions of Brunswick and Luneburg in northern Germany which was drawn by Thomas Jefferys and published to accompany William Faden’s ‘General Atlas’. Faden (1749-1836) joined the firm of Thomas Jefferys two years after Jefferys death in 1771. By 1783 he was in control of the firm. He is particularly noted for undertaking new surveys and for publishing foreign works in England. He went on to produce many fine large maps of all parts of the world. Not in Shirley.
