This very rare map is engraved by William Harrison and published in the ‘Bengal Atlas’ by James Rennell. First published in 1780 with just 13 maps, few examples of this first edition survive as the main consignment to India was captured by the Spanish en route. Some of the manuscripts and copperplates survive to this day in the India Office. Although one of the original maps this probably comes from one of the ensuing editions which were enlarged in 1781 to include a total of 23 maps. The map depicts the cities of Allahabad, Manickpour and Corah-Jehenabad. Shirley (BL) T.Renn 1a no. 13.
