This fine view of Salisbury Cathedral was engraved by the great Wenceslaus Hollar. This example is actually an unrecorded state according to Pennington which is regarded as being as complete a reference work as is possible. Close examination would indicate that it is between Pennington’s states 1 and 2 as the dedication appears to have been engraved, but the replacement used in state 2 is not yet there. Pennington 1060.
