Jan Jansson’s new map of England and Wales was first published in 1636 in the ‘Atlas Novus’. Although derived from Blaeu it is in fact more decorative than that map bearing extra shields for Scotland and Ireland and a further scale of miles. This example has Latin text on the verso.
