This very rare new chart replaced an earlier one engraved by James Bennett. The scale of miles lower right bears an erasure to its left which Shirley speculates is that of the engraver Samuel Parker. This sea chart of southern Italy displays the peninsula south of Civitivecchia Sicily and Malta including part of the coast of Barbary and appears in Mount & Page’s ‘English Pilot Part Three’ covering that particular region in 1727.
