The dating of maps by the Visscher family is very hard but bearing the privilege granted in 1677 and by the style we can ascribe a date to approximately 1700. This map extends from Abbevile in the south west to Mons in the east and Ghent in the north east. The whole is beautifully finished with a fine title cartouche held aloft by putti. Koeman III p. 165; Tooley’s Dictionary.
