Jacob Aerstz. Colom was born in 1600 and settled in Amsterdam in 1622. In 1632 whilst resident in the same street as his chief competitor Willem Blaeu he published De Vyerighe Colom. This is a very rare chart of the north coast of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset and the South Coast of Wales. The Welsh coast extends to St. Davids, Cornwall round to Hilfoort (Harcourt, Falmouth), upriver to Bristol and takes in the Scilly Islands. An inset details the Scilly Isles more.
