Buton (also Butung or Boeton), is an island in Indonesia located off the southeast peninsula of Sulawesi. The town of Boeton is shown at the top of the map and the approaches to it are the feature of the map. The map was surveyed by Captain Hogan in 1796. This chart is found in examples of Laurie and Whittle’s “Complete East India Pilot”.
