A map of the Persian Gulf including many of the towns in the region. Of note are Basra in the upper left and Bahrain prominently named. The ancient town of Julfar is named, now one of the UAE known as Ras al-Khaimah. The map was engraved by Guilaume De-la-Haye. Jean Baptiste Bourguignon d’ Anville (1697-1782) was a French cartographer who compiled over 200 maps. Al-Qasimi p. 205 listing only the English copy by Harrison 1788.
