A lovely engraved map of Tuscany based on one by Giralomo Bellarmati (1493-1555). His map was published in 1536 and survives in just one known example in the Uffizi in Florence. This Ortelius version extends to Rome in the lower right. It is embellished with an ornate title cartouche and a variety of ships offshore. With Spanish text on verso.
