A fine chart of the North Sea dominated by the Dogger Bank. The engraver is identified as John Lodge. John Bew was a bookseller and publisher in London. He employed Lodge as engraver in a number of works including the ‘Political Magazine’ from which this is drawn appearing in the August 1781 issue. Nearby text highlights the reason for its publication, that being the recent engagement between Admiral Hyde Parker and Admiral Zoutman of the Dutch fleet. Jolly Pol 32.
