A double hemisphere world map with smaller astronomical diagrams at center top and bottom. It is a close derivative of Nicolaas Visscher’s earlier Bible map of 1657. The map is slightly larger than Visscher’s and omits his name in the title. The main geographical improvement is the presence here of New Zealand. Indeed it is the presence of these islands which encouraged Shirley to date this map after that of Visscher. Shirley World no. 414.
