The second state of the first separate printed map of Wales. It is derived from a manuscript by the native Humphrey Lhuyd just prior to his death in 1568. According to Van Den Broecke a crack appears in the plate after 1584 near Bristol bottom right, this is just evident on this example. Booth ‘Antique Maps of Wales’ no. 2 rated as scarce; Evans (1964) MCC no. 13 p. 4; Van Den Broecke no. 21.
